Rjpoet, born Richard T. James, Jr. is a poet and writer currently living in his home town of Detroit, Michigan. A 1990 graduate of Morehouse College, he acquired his Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He holds an MBA in Strategic Planning Management from Davenport University. He also obtained an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Wayne State University. Proudly, in 2003, Richard completed his doctoral degree program in Educational Administration and Policy studies from Wayne State University. He teaches Marketing/Business Education in the Detroit Public School system at his Alma Mater Cass Technical High School.

 

Rjpoet's works reflect his life experiences. Inspired by such African American writers as Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, and Nikki Giovanni; his words are imaginative, soul stirring and captivating. Rjpoet has been published in Imaginaries I, a French publication published by the Universite de Nantes; A Delicate Balance and The Space Between, published by the National Library of Poetry; the Sphinx magazine, published by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and numerous other publications.

 

RJ has been featured in Ebony Magazine as one of the most Eligible Bachelors for 2006.

 

RJ is featured in the February, 2007 Issue of The Inifinite Greek Magazine.

 

The Infinite Greek Magazine is the Premiere magazine for news and events for Fraternities and Sororities of the NIC, NPHC, NPC, NALFO, and NMGC organizations.
