Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who is eligible to become a member of the tour?
The tour's membership is open to authors who are promoting market-ready
books that are no more than two years old.
2. What does the name of the tour mean?
The Divine Literary Tour gets its name from the Divine Nine. The Divine
Nine are the nine Black Greek Letter organizations that make up the
National Panhellenic Council.

3. Do I have to be a member of a Greek letter organization to
apply?
While the majority of the tour authors are members of Black Greek Letter
organizations, we do have a limited number of guest author slots for
gifted authors who support our goal of giving back through empowering
workshops, presentations and events.
4. Does the Divine Literary Tour arrange authors' individual
tours?
The Divine Literary Tour arranges events for the tour. Authors choose
which tour events they will participate in based on their individual
promotional and tour plans. The tour should not be a substitute for an
author's individual promotional plan.
5. Do I have to participate in all of the tour's events?
No, you do not have to participate in every single one of the many
events, however the tour does require a minimal commitment to help you
take advantage of the opportunities the tour presents. This also helps
us make sure our events have decent author representation so we do not
have to cancel events because of a lack of author participation, thus
penalizing the authors who do want to attend those events.
6. How much does the tour cost?
The cost is minimal and is included in the application.
The dues amount for an entire year is less than what
many authors pay for one month of work with a publicist
or other event promoter/planner.
7. What do the dues cover?
The dues help cover operational expenses, including
planning and promoting events, as well as registrations
for a limited number of events.
8. How does being a part of the tour benefit me?
Being a member author entitles you to a variety of
signing opportunities in venues that may not ordinarily
be accessible to you or where participation as a single
individual may be prohibitively expensive. Being a part
of the tour also means being a part of a civic
organization that is changing communities.
9. How do I join?
You may apply for membership on the upcoming year's
roster. If your application is accepted, you will
receive a contract and dues request. Download an
application here.
