The Divine Literary Tour has a multifold purpose of serving its member
authors and serving its community. We serve
our member authors by presenting signing and
event opportunities. We serve our community
by presenting workshops, forums and other
programs to promote critical thinking,
literacy and empowerment. Our scholarships
are a part of our service to promote
literacy and empowerment.
Education is a key to personal and community
empowerment. When we help educate one
student, we change a life, a family, a
community, and indeed, a nation. Our
scholarships are awarded to deserving
students who have a desire to serve.
Our first scholarship recipient,
Cameron Herman,
is a 2007 graduate of Georgia State
University. Cameron graduated with a 3.35
grade point average in African American
Studies. He is a member of several
organizations, and has served as a volunteer
at financial literacy workshops to help
empower others to improve their financial
lives.
Cameron is the embodiment of what the DLT
stands for: empowerment and achievement. He
is the first member of his family to attend
college, and his commitment has inspired
others to strive. Cameron's college
attendance can be a catalyst for change for
others.
